A 50-year resident of the North Shore, Rhoda Pierce knows the importance of caring for our water resources. She believes that being a good steward of our water treatment infrastructure will ensure all residents are afforded the economic, social, and health benefits that flow from the North Shore Water Reclamation District’s state-of-the-art operation.

As your current Trustee of the North Shore Water Reclamation District, Pierce is focused on protecting public health through safe sanitation, mitigation of the effects of climate change, and negative impacts to our sanitary lines from some of the wettest years on record.

A former high school teacher at Lane Tech College Prep and Evanston Township High Schools, Rhoda has spent more than thirty-five years in public service. Longtime Executive Director of the Illinois Arts Council Agency, Rhoda has also served her local community as President of the Highland Park Library Board, Chair of the Highland Park Human Relations, Cultural Arts, and Historic Preservations Commission, and as first President of the Highland Park-Highwood Sister Cities Foundation. A graduate of Lake Forest College, she is currently serving as a Lake Forest College Trustee.
